Channel 9 Branding - "Subtitle", 2004

When Channel 9 first started to broadcast in Malaysia, its strongest competitor in free-to-air segment was 8TV which started three months earlier. So we created a TV spot that targeted Chinese audience, dramatised the mistakes often made by Malaysia subtitle translators.

In this comedy of errors, the battle between two rival gangs went away because the actors were affected by the literal and bad translation of the dialogue.
